Contingent Workforce growth and forecasting in Asia
Asia is following the trend of using contingent workers from the US, Europe and Australia. Asia is currently perhaps 10 years behind – but catching up quickly.
The U.S. Government Accountability Office states that 40.4% of the U.S. workforce is classified as contingent workers.

Currently about a quarter of the workforce in Asia is hired on a contract basis. This is expected to grow by 10% over the next 2 years.
As the APAC countries increase their presence on the world economic stage, skilled labor shortages will continue to drive the increasing trend toward contingent workforce utilization.
